A Bond of Giving: Deed of Donation Ceremony between NCSC, Galope Family and LGU Libagon

A momentous occasion unfolded in Libagon as the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), the generous spouses Mr. Raul C. Galope and Mrs. Ma. Ana M. Galope, and the Local Government of Libagon joined hands to solidify a Deed of Donation, paving the way for the establishment of Region 8's inaugural government-operated residential care facility for senior citizens.

The day began with an insightful ocular visit to the sprawling 1.16-hectare land in Barangay Nahaong, generously donated by the Galope spouses. This land, envisioned as a haven for the region's abandoned elderly, will soon be transformed into a state-of-the-art residential care facility – a beacon of hope and compassion.

The official Ceremonial Signing program, held at the Municipal Hall, witnessed the convergence of key stakeholders. Hon. Sabina B. Ranque, Mayor of Libagon, Commissioners of the NCSC, including OIC Dr. Mary Jean P. Loreche, and the esteemed land donors, Mr. and Mrs. Galope, graced the event. Their presence underscored the collaborative spirit and unwavering commitment to this groundbreaking project.

The signing of the Deed of Donation marks a historic milestone for Region 8. This facility, the first of its kind, will provide a nurturing and secure environment for abandoned senior citizens, offering them dignity and support in their twilight years.

Mayor Ranque expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Galope spouses for their extraordinary generosity and to the NCSC for their steadfast support in realizing this dream. Dr. Mary Jean P. Loreche, through a compelling video presentation, highlighted the transformative impact of the Senior Citizens Community Care Center (SC3C) project across the nation. Commissioner Enriqueta R. Rodeles shared her passionate vision for the facility, emphasizing its potential to become a self-sustaining haven for relaxation and community engagement.

This event stands as a powerful testament to the strength of collaboration between government agencies, local officials, and the private sector. Their collective efforts will undoubtedly leave a lasting positive impact on the lives of countless senior citizens in Region 8.

The Galope family’s initiative embodies the rich cultural heritage of Filipino values, which emphasize the importance of strong family ties, respect for elders, and care for one another. These timeless values are essential for fostering a sense of community and social responsibility, particularly among the younger generations.

The establishment of this residential care facility heralds a brighter future for the region's elderly population. It symbolizes a society that values and cares for its senior citizens, ensuring they live their lives with dignity, respect, and comfort.
