NCSC Pays Courtesy Visit to Senator Risa Hontiveros, Presents Key Programs and Initiatives


The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), led by Chairperson and CEO Dr. Mary Jean P. Loreche, paid a courtesy visit to the office of Senator Risa Hontiveros on Wednesday, 17 September 2025.


During the meeting, Dr. Loreche presented significant developments of the Commission, from the establishment of NCSC to its current organizational structure and budget allocation.


The NCSC also had a chance to present its key programs and accomplishments, such as the Expanded Centenarians Act, the Senior Citizens Community Care Centers (SC3C), and ongoing partnerships with other national government agencies and private organizations like SM Cares.


Among proposed initiatives that were tackled during the visit was the incentivization of caregivers for senior citizens, noting the essential steps to address aging population.


The meeting concluded with productive exchanges and recommendations from Sen. Hontiveros to strengthen the Commission’s institutional capacity and expand its impact on the lives of Filipino senior citizens.


It is remembered that NCSC has expressed its support for some proposed legislations in the 20th Congress, including the Universal Social Pension Bill authored by Senator Hontiveros. ■
