The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) - Region II opens its new office on 15 July 2025 in Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City.

The solemn blessing was led by Rev. Fr. Pio Nino L. Guaring, signifying a hopeful beginning for the office’s expanded operations in the region.

Following the blessing, a heartfelt “Kumustahan” session was held with NCSC Chairperson and CEO Dr. Mary Jean P. Loreche, newly appointed Regional Director Ms. Dulceneah Lyra F. Dela Cruz, and the dedicated regional office staff.

Dr. Loreche commended the team for their commitment and encouraged them about the essence of the Commission’s holistic program.

She reminded staff to maximize resources to implement initiatives, especially for those in the margins. With everyone’s cooperation, Dr. Loreche believes that the Commission can bring its mandate to life on the ground.

Meanwhile, NCSC RO 2 was recognized during the session for the team’s achievements and plans to strengthen and expand the Commission’s impact in the region.

One of which is the launching of three Senior Citizens Community Care Centers (SC3C) this year—a one-stop hub of government programs and services for senior citizens.

Moreover, the NCSC also engaged with key stakeholders in Cagayan, including the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Cagayan Valley Medical Center, and the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA).

During the meeting, Dr. Loreche introduced the Commission’s core programs, particularly highlighting the growing number of SC3Cs across the country.

These engagements underscore NCSC’s commitment to fostering partnerships that will further uplift the welfare and dignity of Filipino senior citizens.
