The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) has successfully disbursed over ₱1 billion worth of cash gifts to qualified Filipino senior citizens under the Expanded Centenarians Act (ECA), in recognition of their contributions and in celebration of reaching milestone ages.
As of 12 August 2025, the NCSC reported a total of 96,463 senior citizens who have received their cash gifts, with the following breakdown by age group:
80 years old – 49, 164
85 years old – 30,792
90 years old – 12,193
95 years old – 3,612
100 years old – 702
Under the ECA, centenarians receive ₱100,000.00, while senior citizens who reached milestone ages (80, 85, 90, 95) receive ₱10,000.00 each.
Distribution is coordinated with LGUs and the Office of the Senior Citizens Affair (OSCA) via regional centers to ensure accessibility, even in remote areas.
NCSC Chairperson and CEO Dr. Mary Jean Loreche emphasized the program as a tribute to seniors citizens’ contributions and a step toward improving their quality of life.
“This milestone is a reflection of our deep respect for the elderly. Through the Expanded Centenarians Act, we aim to improve the quality of life of our beloved senior citizens while giving them the recognition they truly deserve,” said Dr. Loreche.
Eligible senior citizens or their families may apply through their OSCA or visit www.ncsc.gov.ph for more information.
