Sugbo News added 10 new photos to the album: 2023 AT THE CAPITOL.
The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) would like to work with the Capitol in providing health insurance coverage to senior citizens in the province. While nothing definitive came out of the initial meeting with Gov. Gwen Garcia on July 20, NCSC chairperson Franklin Quijano hopes to undertake this cooperation with the Capitol moving forward.
Gov. Gwen also expressed her openness in helping the agency find a place for the construction of its regional office here in Cebu.
NCSC and the World Health Organization (WHO) are holding their national validation workshop of the Philippine Plan of Action for Senior Citizens (PPASC) 2023–2028 in Cebu from July 19 to 21.
The two basic objectives of the NCSC and WHO is to present and validate with stakeholders the draft PPASC 2023-2028 and to develop guidelines for the Philippine Age Friendly Cities and Communities or PAFCC.
NCSC is the primary agency that promotes the advocacy of, and collaboration between different stakeholders and senior citizens to ensure the effective implementation of various programs and services, particularly on the development of seniors and advancing their health, well-being, and ensuring a supportive and enabling environment for the elderly.
Quijano was accompanied by other NCSC commissioners in his visit at the Capitol today.
